Here are five ways to finally get over our body image issues:

1)Surround yourself with positive and happy people who recognize you for the beautiful individual you are. In this adventure called life, does it really matter what digit is showing on your jeans?? Don’t see yourself as a number and you’ll attract others that not only see beyond that number, but celebrate you BECAUSE of your size!

2)Treat your body with respect and love; if you don’t do that for yourself, how do you expect others to do it? When you truly start to think about everything your body does for you each day, you simply have to appreciate it and love it! Playing with your children? Done! Dancing with your significant other? Done! Hugging your grandmother? Done! Enjoying that lovely piece of chocolate? Done! Look at everything just having a body helps you do…and celebrate it!!

3)Spend time doing what you love! You know how time just seems to fly by when you’re doing something you enjoy? That’s not the only thing happening~you’re also forgetting to remember that you think you have “thunder thighs” or whatever else you may fixate on about your body. Don’t say, “When I weight XX pounds, I’ll go water skiing” OR hang gliding OR a gazillon other things you’d like to do with your life…just go for it! To quote one of my favorite poets, Mary Oliver, “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

4)Eat healthy and get some fresh air. Yes, you’ve heard it a thousand and one times, but it’s still worth repeating. When you eat good, clean foods, your body is fueled by that and you just feel better~you have more energy, you sleep better, your skin is clearer…who can argue with that? And fresh air? Fresh air provides you with a steady supply of oxygen which is needed by your brain and every single cell of your body…enough said!

5) And last, but definitely not least…bring your sexy back! You don’t have to be model-thin
to rock that sexy bod you’ve already got! There are plenty of fashionable, flattering frocks for both women and men of all sizes, so dress to flatter what you’ve got and rock on!
