BREAKING 11:54 AM EST: The suspected shooter has been identified as Vester Lee Flanigan, also known as Bryce Williams.
He is a former WDBJ7 employee.
BREAKING 11:56 AM EST: Man suspected of killing two WDBJ7 employees shot himself on I-66 in Fauquier Co., he’s in critical condition
Early this morning around 6:45 a.m Shots rang at a plaza about 25 miles from Roanoke, VA. Fatally shooting channel WDBJ7 cameraman Adam Ward, 27, and reporter Alison Parker, 24. The Shooting took place at the Bridgewater Plaza during a live broadcast while Vicki Gardner, executive director of the Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce, was being interviewed during the violent act. Unfortunately Ms. Gardner was injured and reports of her conditions have yet been released. The motive of this unidentified shooter is still unclear. Local and state police as well as the ATF & FBI have joined in the investigation. As we learn more details we will report to you.

Both of the shooting victims were in relationships with other employees at the TV station. Parker’s boyfriend Chris Hurst posted these photo on Twitter and Facebook.
