Check Out Pharrell Williams New Children’s Book, It Will Make You “Happy”
Recently, with the help of Penguin Group, popular recording artist Pharrell Williams turned his smash hit “Happy” into a children’s book. During an interview on the TODAY show, he described his genuine concern about literacy in our country. Pharrell, who is a judge and respected mentor on the popular television show “The Voice”, implied that some children may need to be inspired to laugh in these troubled times we live in.
The book is taken directly from the song. Teachers and parents should know it is intended to be read as a story and not sang. That part may not be easy. Read aloud, the words should take on a slower pace than the song. The rhyming of the verses makes this an exceptionally entertaining read for small children. The real question is, will young readers and parents happily clap along?
