SONG OF THE DAY: Alicia Keys – Fallin

SONG OF THE DAY

Alicia Keys

Fallin

Alicia Keys, born Alicia Cook, studied classical piano from age seven and at the age of fourteen, started writing her own songs.  In her 20s, Keys began breaking into the music industry. However after two unsuccessful record deals, Arista Records and Colombia Records, she found herself still without a studio album.

Around the early 2000s, Keys joined Clive Davis at his newly formed company J Records and released her first album Songs in A Minor.  The album incorporated Keys’ classical music training, R&B and neo soul.  “Fallin,” the debut single from the album, became the most played song in the United States at the time.

Rolling Stone magazine named Songs in A Minor the second best album of 2001.  The debut success also led to five awards at the 2002 Grammy Awards.  In an interview with MTV Keys said: “This album is possibly the most precious to me as your first album only happens once, and so Songs in A Minor will always hold a special place in my life that’s filled with amazing memories. I’m so proud the songs are still being enjoyed.”

Lyrics:

[Verse 1]

I keep on fallin’

In and out of love

With you

Sometimes I love ya

Sometimes you make me blue

Sometimes I feel good

At times I feel used

Lovin you darlin’

Makes me so confused

I keep on

Fallin’

In and out of love with you

I never loved someone

The way that I love you

[Verse 2]

Oh, oh , I never felt this way

How do you give me so much pleasure

And cause me so much pain

Just when I think

Ive taken more than would a fool

I start fallin’ back in love with you

I keep on

Fallin’

In and out of love with you

I never loved someone

The way that I love you

[Bridge]

Oh baby

I, I, I, I’m fallin’

I, I, I, I’m fallin’

Fall

I keep on

Fallin’

In and out of love with you

I never loved someone

The way that I love you

Im fallin’

In and out of love with you

I never loved someone

The way that I love you

Im fallin’

In and out of love with you

I never loved someone

The way that I love you
What?
